Editors Note:  Fundraising is an ongoing activity for many organizations and one that is embraced by many people.  There are a number of opportunities to acquire items from T-shirts, to coffee mugs, to model trains.  This is a good chance to support a good cause.

Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. More than 5 million Americans are living with the disease. Approximately 500,000 people are dying each year because they have Alzheimer’s disease. One in three seniors dies because of Alzheimer’s or another dementia.

Bobby’s wife Louise bravely fought Alzheimer’s for nearly 6 years. In Celebration of Louise, the folks at Red Rock Train Brokers are selling the Stricklin train collection with 100% of all sales dollars being donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Visit the Trainbuddy store at eBay! You will feel rewarded by your purchase!

Now we need more help!  With the endorsement of the Alzheimer’s Association, Dana and Bobby commissioned the production of the ALZ.ORG boxcar.  Only SEVENTY – FIVE limited edition boxcars are being offered for sale and all monies collected are being donated to the Association. Join the battle against Alzheimer’s with your purchase of this special offer.

About the boxcar:  Using new Lionel stock we asked Robert Salerno of RGS Trains to custom produce seventy five specially decorated O gauge boxcars. The cars are painted with multiple purple hews (the association colors). Bold white letters announce the Alzheimer’s Association web site – ALZ.org. The slogan Contributing to a World Without Alzheimer’s reminds us of the battle that individuals, their care givers and the Association are waging against the thief – Alzheimer’s disease.

Each car comes with a certificate noting the limited production number and a letter from the Alzheimer’s Association. Special labeling on the train car display box notes the specific production number i.e. #33 of 75. The boxcars are individually pad printed (not decals). Each boxcar has a metal frame and die cast sprung trucks. The boxcar bodies are a mix of 6464 and 9700 tooling.
