The Summer Signal Is Green—Full Speed Ahead!

There’s something about summer that brings a renewed energy to the hobby—sunny skies, open rails, and a calendar full of exciting events and projects across the TCA community. Since our last update, I’ve had the privilege of staying deeply involved, both on the show floor and behind the scenes.

This past spring, I attended the always-incredible York Train Meet in April, followed by the Keystone Division Meet in Lancaster this June—a fantastic local event with great people and great trains. Coming up, I’m looking forward to attending the LCCA National Convention in Scranton this July and to attending Greenberg’s Great Train & Toy Show in Edison, NJ this August. While I wasn’t able to make it to the TCA National Convention in Jacksonville, it was a memorable time for all who attended.

Beyond the big conventions, I’ve also been supporting smaller, community-based gatherings. I recently attended a show hosted by the Somerset County NJ 4H Trainmasters, and I’m hoping to join an upcoming summer meetup hosted by the one, the only, the living legend that is, Clem Clement, whose warmth and deep connection to the hobby continue to inspire, at his summer train show which he hosts in Virginia this July.

Off the show floor, I’ve been hard at work helping strengthen our digital footprint. I recently rebuilt the METCA website, the new site is now live, and I have officially taken on the role of METCA Webmaster. I’ve also taken on the role of Eastern Division Webmaster and haved redesigned their site and am also working to enhance their social media presence—two vital steps toward engaging a wider, more connected audience.

On the national level, I continue to support TCA’s social media efforts alongside Art Riccardi and the TCA National social media team, working to share member stories, highlight upcoming events, and keep the momentum strong across all platforms.

As always, it’s the people who make this hobby so special. Whether it’s chatting with a fellow member at a meet, swapping tips online, or pitching in behind the scenes, I’m constantly reminded of the passion and generosity that fuel the TCA community.

Wishing everyone a fun, safe, and train-filled summer. I’ll see many of you at the shows—and of course, we’ll all be back at York this October!

EDITOR’S NOTE: As mentioned above, I’m excited to be heading to the LCCA National Convention this July, and I’d love to meet you there! If you see me around the show floor, feel free to stop me and say hello. Whether you want to talk trains, share a story, or just connect, I’m always glad to chat with fellow enthusiasts. See you this summer!

As always, if you have ideas, questions, or suggestions about how we can enhance e*Train, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to contact me at [email protected], and let’s keep our shared love of trains rolling into an exciting year ahead!
