Summer e*Train Available

The latest edition is now ready for online viewing.

This edition features two articles to start you thinking about Christmas: one combines Christmas in July ideas with a front-yard Christmas exhibit, the other the story of a Baltimore tradition of holiday train gardens. Another article researches the background of an American Flyer building.

Other articles discuss one member’s journey to American OO, the building of an illuminated fire-watch tower, and thanks to a departing worker on e*Train and other TCA IT operations. Updates to two long-standing favorites on trolleys and 6464 cars round out the issue.

But there’s actually one more article, and it’s so important that we chose it as the cover picture of this edition:

Yes, York is Back! Editor Carol McGinnis provides full details. Some things will be different, but with a three-day October event, it will be a great celebration of the return to normalcy. Go straight to the article for more details.

Also visit the Eastern Division’s website for the latest information. Updated registration forms will be mailed out by July 15th. Online Registration will be available in July at yorkregistration.org. The call center will be operational on July 14th. TCA’s National Business Office does not handle the York event.

2022 Convention Cars Available for Online Ordering

This year TCA is offering 13 options involving 10 cars! They include a variety of types of Quikrete cars, two brewing-themed reefers, a special Thiele Tank car, and a neat “Moonshine” boxcar. Manufacturers represented include Lionel, American Flyer, and American Models. All cars are related to the area and history of TCA’s Dixie Division, which is the host for 2022.

These cars are available at a new web location where they can be ordered at a special reduced cost. Paper forms will still be sent to all members in the upcoming August Newsletter for those who wish to mail or call in their orders at the regular prices.

Orders must be received no later than September 15, but don’t wait!

Convention Registration Update

The July 23 deadline for making hotel reservations for the Burbank convention is fast approaching!  And for those looking forward to the tours, please note that some of the most popular ones—such as the Warner Bros. Studio Tour, the Home Layout Tour, and the Knott’s Berry Farm Train Barn Tour—are rapidly filling up.

Visit tcaconvention.org for all the latest information and details.

California Fruit Express Cars Still Available for Ordering

Following up on our last email, be aware that we can still accept more orders for these two Member Exclusives, but time is getting short. See them here. Note that ordering for the other Member Exclusive cars you see on that page ends June 30.
