Browse and Buy Our Duplicate Library Books for Sale

Our staff at the National Toy Train Library is constantly working to refine the research collection, and that means we often have duplicate or previously used materials to offer researchers and enthusiasts for purchase.

These items can be invaluable additions to your home toy train reference library, and all proceeds support developing the Library’s collection! Conditions may vary, but they’re all readable and usable for research. (See individual listings for condition notes and other details.)

What Kinds of Library Materials Are For Sale?

Reference guides, handbooks, and back issues of Train Collectors Quarterly are just a few examples of available materials you can purchase through the Library. Postage and Handling Information

  • Postage and handling costs will be determined at the time of order and will be based on current shipping rates.
  • Items are sent USPS or by UPS, depending on the number of items ordered, the items’ value, and/or their physical size.
  • All foreign orders (including Canada and Mexico) should expect higher postage costs.
  • Overseas patrons: please indicate whether you prefer airmail or surface mail.

Additional Purchasing Details to Note

  • We encourage Book Sale patrons to call ahead and check the availability of the items you’re interested in purchasing before visiting the Library or attempting to place an order by fax or email. To reduce our paperwork and postage costs, items should be reserved by phone. Please have the titles and item numbers ready when you call to place your order.
  • Large orders by TCA non-members should expect a short delay in mailing as we check your credit card or personal check. We will reserve items in your name for two weeks until your check arrives—but again, all items should be reserved by phone to assure their availability.
  • While we cannot offer refunds for Book Sale purchases, we would be glad to provide an exchange for credit towards another book’s purchase, should you be dissatisfied with your purchase. Simply give us a call, and we can make arrangements to have your book returned to us and credit issued towards another purchase.
